How is ProgramAlpha different from grinding random problem lists?
Every problem is tagged with a pattern, a difficulty and the companies that ask it. Alpha Tracks sequence those problems by dependency: you learn a technique, practice it immediately, and only then advance. Grinding random lists builds recall; ProgramAlpha builds recognition.
Is there a free tier?
Yes. The Starter plan is free forever and includes curated problems, the read-only Pattern Explorer and core progress tracking. Upgrade when you want the full problem bank, tracks and interview arena. Prices can be viewed in Indian Rupees (₹) or US Dollars ($).
What languages does the Practice Lab judge support?
The in-browser judge currently simulates evaluation for JavaScript solutions so you can work offline. A production sandbox supporting JavaScript, Python, C++ and Java can be wired in via the API layer described in the codebase.
How long should I prepare before interviews?
Most engineers see steady gains within 4–6 weeks of consistent daily practice. The Interview Sprint track is built for the final two weeks before a loop. Start earlier if you can — the system design path benefits from more runway.
Do I need a powerful computer?
No. ProgramAlpha runs entirely in the browser on any modern laptop, tablet or phone. Progress syncs to your account if you connect a backend; offline, it is stored locally.
Can I cancel anytime?
Absolutely. Paid plans are month-to-month or prepaid, and you keep your progress history after downgrading. Your data stays yours, per the privacy policy.
Is ProgramAlpha useful for senior / staff interviews?
Yes. Senior loops lean harder on system design and behavioural evidence — both covered by the System Design Blueprint and the Interview Arena’s senior-focused question sets.
